Doile Dennis Reeves 

and Johnnie Ethel Basham Footnotes

 

 

[1] The 1900 United States Census for Warren County, Kentucky shows Johnnie E. Basham as a 

     stepdaughter in the family of George W. Basham and Adar C. (or E.) Basham.  She is shown as a  

     white female having a birth date in August, 1897.

[2] 1910 United States Census for Warren County, Kentucky, Enumeration District 0115.

[3] A postcard to Ethel Basham dated December 29, 1910 shows that she received her mail in care of 

     G.M. Runner.  Other postcards show that she was receiving mail in care of George Runner as late 

     as December 28, 1916.

[4] Correspondence dated November 26, 1919 from Doile Dennis Reeves to Johnnie Ethel Basham, in 

     the possession of Brian Reeves.

[5] Their marriage bond is located in Warren County, Kentucky Marriage Book 8, Page 91.  It is dated  

     December 24, 1919.  The surety on it was H.E. Reeves.  It shows that neither had been married 

     before.  The record of marriage certificate shows the marriage was performed by and at the 

     residence of J.D. Lindsey, a minister of the Christian Church.  Witnesses were Ethel Reeves and 

     Mrs. H.D. Profitt.

[6] Commonwealth of Kentucky teachers certificates, one dated September 24, 1917 and the other  

     May 19, 1919.

[7] Attendance sheet in the possession of Brian Reeves.
